Kerry Livgren started as the primary songwriter, lead guitarist and keyboardist for 70s/80s band KANSAS, writing such classics as "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry on Wayward Son."

Kerry left KANSAS in 1984 to pursue a solo career in Christian music, eventually winning the Dove Award (Christian music's equivalent of the Grammy) for his album, "One of Several Possible Musiks."

In 2003, Kerry reunited his original band before KANSAS, ProtoKaw. Their first new album, Before Became After (2004), yielded the single, "Words of Honor." Both the John Kerry and George Bush presidential campaigns requested the use of the single for their election campaigns.

Kerry's lastest releases are Prime Mover: Redux (2008) and Decade Vol. 1 (2009).

His nexy project is entitled The Resurrection of Lazarus, a cantata for orchestra and vocal ensemble.
