Kerry Livgren started as the primary songwriter, lead guitarist and keyboardist for 70s/80s band KANSAS, writing such classics as "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry on Wayward Son."

Kerry left KANSAS in 1984 to pursue a solo career in Christian music, eventually winning the Dove Award (Christian music's equivalent of the Grammy) for his album, "One of Several Possible Musiks."

In 2003, Kerry reunited his original band before KANSAS, ProtoKaw. Their first new album, Before Became After (2004), yielded the single, "Words of Honor." Both the John Kerry and George Bush presidential campaigns requested the use of the single for their election campaigns.

Kerry's last release was ProtoKaw's critically acclaimed The Wait of Glory (2005). Kerry's current projects are: a cantata entitled The Resurrection of Lazarus, an instrumental album entitled More of Several Possible Musiks, and a new ProtoKaw album.
